Construction at Beale 851-A, surface, launcher #1. This jig was fabricated to allow for weighing of the 2 enormous counterweights for the missile launcher elevator system. The jig has been fitted with four load cells and is ready to weigh the 2 huge, lead counterweights to be installed at each launcher. The counterweight has been lifted and is ready to be hoisted into position onto the jig. Note: slope of the silo cap can be seen in the background. Taken: June 13, 1961 Source: The Martin Co.
