Denver Post photo showing silo door closure at silo#2, Lowry 725-B. Pictured is Cletus Eversoll of Midwest Scrap Metals Inc. of Glendale Arizona as he keeps tension on a pull cable. A crane was used to pull the doors closed to address safety concerns over the open silos. Photo captions reads: 'Half the job's done as one door slams to earth. G.W. Justeson, regional director of General Services Administration property management and disposal service, said "We lost a lot of sleep fearing that a human or an animal might fall down one of those shafts." Hydraulic closing mechanisms were removed as salvage three years ago.'
